You might remember me mentioning that the Creation Cafe was one of the local restaurants Indianapolis has to offer which I was dying to visit. I'm VERY happy to update you on my life and mention that I've actually been there twice since I first wrote about how much I love the canal and wanted to go. And I was not disappointed!Lara is so much better at the chattin' it up eatin' it up style. She remembers to take pictures of the yummy fare and locale. I, of course, was so wrapped up in making sure I had my coupon for Creation Cafe from the Visit Indy Restaurant Coupon Page that I forgot. BOTH. times. So you're going to have to take my word for it. The food was AH-MAZING and the atmosphere ART-mazing (Cheesy modification of word for the sake of lack of pictures? Yes, move along.). Anywho. I absolutely love this place and feel at home there and it's not just because of the free Wi-Fi (although it helps!).
Located on the north end of the Central Canal, not far from downtown Indianapolis in the Historic Buggs Temple, Creation Cafe has a lively menu of delish sandwiches (seriously, I can't even figure out the words to use because sandwich does not capture the selection), soups, and salads, all featuring locally grown and raised foods. Did I mention the fresh hot chocolate chip cookies and gelato? Coffees, Wines, Beer, Hot Chocolate (with fresh. homemade. whipped. cream.) are also all available. We went with the Hoity Toity Mother Clucker - a Grilled Chicken Breast with sage aioli, toasted walnuts, sliced apples, and melted brie on an artisan bread the first time (drooling as I type). The second time, I treated my sister-in-law (the Duchess) to breakfast and it was equally yum worthy. BLT is for me, me, me!
If you're looking for a restful and unique place to break bread (reaaallllly good bread), Creation Cafe is a great bet. Think they'd notice if I crashed on the couch there for awhile?
And it was good. And it was very good.
