Time Warp

Heads up, this post doesn't feature free stuff.  Now before you get super disappointed in who I am and send me hate mail about how I've sold out, it does include details for some really fun Halloween opportunities with a classic cult film so give me some minor cool points on that one, mmmkay?

Anyway, I hate to admit it right here on the World Wide Web, but I've never seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show before.  I am a bit of a pop culture freak and so admitting this seems to be a little antiquated but I digress.  I was wandering around the Fountain Square district near downtown Indianapolis this past weekend (you really must check out this unique area of town if you haven't already) and noticed a poster at the Fountain Square Theatre Building advertising a special showing of the movie (actually two) with all sorts of additional fun festivities.  A live DJ . . . an after party . . . costumes . . . and of course lots of singing along (I do know some basics, ok?).  As if Fountain Square wasn't one of the best places to find a variety of fun things to do in Indianapolis already (can we say Swing Dancing, Duckpin Bowling, and amazing dining?), you can dress up and get down this Halloween there, too.  And while it's not free, tickets are fairly affordable, too.

A quick search on Visit Indy for Rocky Horror also revealed that you can also catch a Live Show at the Athenaeum presented by The Artists' Studio 10/29-10/31.  So if you're a native who's a fan of this film or in town on the spookiest night of the year, you might think about doing the "Time Warp" at one of Indy's two available venues.

But if you've already got plans this weekend, definitely check out a piece of living Indianapolis History at Fountain Square sometime soon.  It's one of this girl's favorite Indy haunts, anytime of the year.  And don't worry, free stuff will resume soon.
