Once upon time, while visiting one of our favorite outlet malls (Did you anticipate Indy's Queen of Free to satisfy her discount shopping needs anywhere else?), we happened to realize that it was an unusual day for said mall. Instead of "normal" shoppers, there seemed to be a high percentage of short people, dressed as super heros, ghosts, goblins, pop star wannabes, and more. It had never dawned on me before that malls offer safe trick or treating for kiddos 12 and under. For so many reasons, programs like these make sense - controlled weather, well lit, coupons and candy! Some of the best Indianapolis attractions are its great shopping malls from places like Circle Centre in downtown Indianapolis to the Edinburgh Outlet south of the city to the beautiful Clay Terrace in Carmel, you're bound to find what you like (and at a price you want to pay). And I'm happy to let you know that many of these great shopping establishments and/or their individual retailers are participating in Safe Halloween Trick-or-Treating Programs. A quick search revealed that Greenwood Park Mall, Clay Terrace, Castleton Square Mall, Washington Square Mall, Nordstrom's at Circle Centre, and Edinburgh Premium Outlets (*LOVE* that place!) are all celebrating Halloween with their littlest shoppers this year. Details vary but the programs are for kids 12 and under, require an accompanying adult, are free (duh!), limit masks to those 12 and under, and prohibit any toy weapons. Check out Simon Property's website to search for your favorite shopping locale and get all of the details!
